Singapore Math Extra Practice

We're using Math in Focus for our twin boys next year and I originally decided to not get the extra practice but am now undecided as to whether or not to purchase it. They both hate to write so my original thinking was that if we have yet another workbook for them they'll completely shut down. But I wonder how much it adds the their retention of the concepts? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was planning on doing extra work and games with the manipulatives but just wondered the extra practice workbooks would be beneficial.

If they hate to write, but you still want to add in the extra questions, you could try doing them on the whiteboard or with paint? Or having them build with manipulatives. This way they get the benefit of the extra practice, but without the extra writing.
