  1. I was planning on doing extra work and games with the manipulatives but just wondered the extra practice workbooks would be beneficial.
  2. We're using Math in Focus for our twin boys next year and I originally decided to not get the extra practice but am now undecided as to whether or not to purchase it. They both hate to write so my original thinking was that if we have yet another workbook for them they'll completely shut down. But I wonder how much it adds the their retention of the concepts? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Just curious for those who use Math in Focus did you piece together your manipulatives or did you buy a kit? I noticed that Rainbowresource has a manipulative kit; has anyone purchased one of these? Did it have all of the manipulatives that you needed for the grade or did you still have to buy more? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for confirming that they are different. Now to build on my question...is one better than the other?
  5. I'm trying to figure this out and wondered if anyone on here might know. I was looking into buying the TM, resource pack, and readers used but was planning on buying the workbooks from somewhere other than McRuffy. The TM that I was looking to buy is the SE version. Can you use the black and white Workbook 1 and Workbook 2 with the SE version? Or are they so different that you would have to buy the SE version workbooks? Thanks for any help :001_smile:
  6. I wouldn't if I was the only one deciding. Husband loves the idea of testing. We had our Kindergartners tested just so he could know that they were 'on track'. They did fine; however, didn't get the chance to show off all of their knowledge which really bothered them. Also, once they realized it was a 'timed' test they got a bit frazzled. I don't think there's any need to put stress on a little one unless it's completely neccessary.
