kirstenhill
I'm putting together my own American History Year 1 for this year, primarily for my 3rd grader with my K'er tagging along for some books. I'm wanting a paper US History atlas of some sort to have on hand for reference. I currently have The Penguin Atlas of North American History on my wishlist ( http://amzn.com/0140511288) But I'm also curious about this one that I saw on the Geography Matters website: http://www.home-school-curriculum.com/product/united-states-history-atlas Any feedback or other suggestions? Is there another paper historical atlas of the US that you love?
kirstenhill
Bump...anyone? Or does this lack of response mean I don't really need one?
EmmaNadine
This is a book in a series of four atlases of American history that are fantastic by the same author and illustrator. Each atlas focuses on a different aspect of American history. I love all of these, and though they are designed for kids, my husband and I both love them as well. http://www.amazon.com/Journeys-Time-Atlas-American-History/dp/0618311149/ They aren't comprehensive, of course, but I think they are a good addition to a course on American history. I haven't used this other resource, but I have it on my wish list. http://www.amazon.com/Interactive-Maps-Easy-Assemble-Concepts/dp/0439241146/ And of course, there is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Atlas-American-History-Rand-Mcnally/dp/0528934570/ It looks fairly comprehensive, and you can purchased used copies inexpensively.
