some information on a ministry that might be worth checking into. They are able to stretch your dollars and offer a box of food each month. From what I've understood, they give you a lot for the money and the quality is good as well. You can just buy boxes of meat or boxes of fruits and veggies. I think the prices are really good!

My church recently started offering this. We haven't tried it yet, but I've heard a lot of positive feedback about it from those who have.

I always meant to try this when we lived in St. Louis....but never got around to it....it is not available in WA. However, I have recently started getting fresh organic produce that is mostly from local farms DELIVERED once a week. Todays box included:

 

1 head red leaf lettuce

1 head Romaine lettuce

4 ears of corn

6 carrots

5 nectarines

6 plums

4 apples

3 garlic scapes

2 lb bag of cherries

2 cucumbers

1 bunch of broccoli

 

all for $30! And NO delivery charge! Can't beat that in the grocery store...for regular veggies..much less ORGANIC ones. I also purchased 3 organic avacados for $3...and we ate one today and it was soooo yummy!
