mommaduck Posted April 12, 2012 Share Posted April 12, 2012 Currently using it. They would not let my son in the virtual classroom his first year in their program, so he is self paced. It's good for a kid that is very self motivated and can manage time well on their own. We have had to get an outside tutor to help with a couple of subjects, due to my son having trouble with the online tutoring and for one subject and absolutely no help in another (Latin). Otherwise, they are a good school. They provide everything. The supervisors are wonderful to work with. We know another family that used them and they loved it. mommaduck Posted April 12, 2012 Share Posted April 12, 2012 If you are self paced, then they are very hands off. You can set your own schedule to an extent. They must sign in every school day (they will not count signing in on a Saturday or Sunday....so if you skip on a Thurs and school on Sat, then you still need to sign in on Thurs). Also, they work in semesters. You have to have all that semester's coursework done by the end of that semester (they set the date). The SI will call approx every other week to talk with you and your child about their progress, weaknesses, strengths, game plan, etc. They can see everything your child has done and it's their job to make sure things are progressing.
