JessReplanted
Excel is one of my weak points. Don't judge me. ;) Can you subtract a percent on Excel? My husband is working on business stuff and he's trying to get the wonderful program to do his math for him. But, when he sets up the formula to have one box subtract another box, it's not working. The two boxes are 36, 4%. Is using the % sign creating a problem? Thanks! Edited March 15, 2012 by JessReplanted
mom2hunangirls
Does he have both (really all 3) boxes formatted as "number"? Yes, it will definitely do that for him. Which version is he using?
JessReplanted
I mentioned that to him, and so now he's trying to format boxes. And, it looks like Excel 2008. Edited March 15, 2012 by JessReplanted
mom2hunangirls
From there the easiest way to tell you is 36*(1-.4). Or using cell a1=36, b1=40%, c1=answer C1=A1*(1-b1) The formula builder will help him if it's needing if then statements or getting the syntax right for the formula above.
