Bug's Mom
My dd has decided to write another book. First, she assembled the book, then wrote the jacket copy on the back. Now she's working on the story. A bit backwards...:tongue_smilie: It might be hard to read in the photo, so here's what it says: Go on an action-packed journey with orphaned triplets Jack, Jacque and Jenner as they battle their way through their great-great-uncle's HAUNTED HOUSE with nothing but a young ghost to protect them! It's a life-and-death struggle as they learn secrets, destroy zombies and much more!
thescrappyhomeschooler
Cute! I like that she can sum up the story before it's even written. Sounds like a great book!

I laugh at how she's going about it...completely backwards, but she's happy & excited about it. We'll see if she finishes it.

We'll see if she finishes it. It's not so backwards as you might think. She's used that jacket copy to determine her characters, setting, and conflict. All three of those elements are necessary for a good story. Many times young writers start off writing a story with an interesting setting or character, but no idea of what will actually happen, with the result that the story is never finished. Good luck with your writer!

Good luck with your writer! Good points. I was also looking at the fact that she had stapled the pages (blank) together and made a cover. I'm hoping that she finishes it. I'm typing it as she dictates, then she'll edit and finalize things...then will write it on the pages.
