talk2ham.1
My son is five and has a good handle on recognizing 2 digit numbers, building them on the abacus or with tally sticks etc., and saying them correctly. However, when he is asked to write them out, he generally reverses the order of the digits. Is this a place value problem? A left/right tracking thing? A reversal problem? He's really young, so I don't want to get all worried for no reason. I'm just wondering if this is normal and how to address it.
OrganicAnn
It is fairly common. If he continues to do it with no improvement at 6, at 7 etc, then you may want to get his eyes tests or look into issues with dyslexia. Some reversals are common up to about 3rd grade.
