When I contacted Amazon support some time back, they were noncommittal about whether the full Lego warranty applied to sets sold through Amazon. You'll have no support issues with Lego. ETA: I wanted to add that I wouldn't necessarily buy a warranty for an extra 25% of the purchase price, either. I mainly think it's a good idea for the OP to consider what she's getting before buying. I was frustrated by Amazon's noncommittal customer service on this in the past, but luckily the price was the same, just expected shipping date longer at Lego. Just hoping to hear any reason not too, like the set isn't complete or something. I don't like Lego's customer service! My son has $50 Lego online giftcard and a $50 Lego store giftcard and they won't let him combine them - so ridiculous. I think I would have to buy a warranty from them anyway. There is just some problematic language (again IIRC) about it applying when bought from them. Like most electronics, of course, a Mindstorms set would be more likely to fail, say, within the first few weeks than six months in; just make sure you test everything within the Amazon return period. Mommyof4ks Posted December 9, 2011 Share Posted December 9, 2011 I would go with Amazon. Free shipping and no tax in most states makes it quite a bit cheaper than Lego.com.
