coffeefreak
My oldest is going to be doing the VP Scholars program next year for the first time as a 7th grader. I'm purchasing Latin Alive at the recommendation of the VP rep, but I'm wondering what else I should cover 2nd semester to prepare her for the Omnibus classes. We're doing Logic so I'm not worried about that. Should we purchase the history cards and review the events? Should we do IEW's Essay Writing book (I see it's part of the Transition Grammar Class). Any advice or experiences you have had are appreciated! Thanks! Dorinda PS I'm also posting this on the HS boards:001_smile:
sahm99
You might want to look into the different transition classes that are offered during the summer. Ds is doing Grammar and Writing Transition during this school-year and we will add another one (or two) during the summer. I think these classes are a great introduction to VP Scholars. Hth! coffeefreak
They said she could join the history one mid year (January), but I didn't realize they offer them in the summer. So, you would recommend doing that to prepare. I must admit, it is tempting. . . Anyone else do their transition classes?
Bloggermom
My son is in their Latin Transitions class and it is wonderful. They do have some of the Transition classes for over the summer that would prep her for the rigor of the middle school classes.
