Jane Elliot
I want to read aloud the History Lives series (Peril and Peace, Courage and Conviction, etc.), but I can't decide where to start. Should I just start at the beginning or should I start with the one that corresponds with our history? We're about 2/3 through SOTW 3. What would you do? TIA! Trivium Academy
I'd start with Hearts and Hands and just enjoy it. They can be read on their own, without having to be in order. Book 5 is due out in January '09. Rescue and Redeem: Chronicles of the Modern Church will take you deeper into the lives of late 19th century - mid 20th century figures you’ve heard of (like Dietrich Bonhoeffer), and introduce you to others you probably haven’t (like Niijima Jo). The cover will feature another beautiful illustration by Jonathan Williams, this time of the brilliant and fearless Pandita Ramabai of India, education pioneer and rescuer of child widows. Following the pattern of previous volumes, this one is scheduled to release this November in the UK and January in the US. --- http://www.historylivesseries.com/
