Night Elf
Okay, totally showing my ignorance here, but when I visit websites that use cookies, are they only attached to the browser? Is anything ever put onto my hard drive? I have Norton Internet security. When I run it, it shows that it has found cookies. Where is it finding those? I don't care if sites know I shop for kitchen items and ads show up to sell me that type of product, but I will admit I'm finally creeped out at the idea that any personal information is being shared. Of course, isn't a moot point now? My information is out there already. I hate the idea of not using FB anymore because I love being able to keep in touch with my family so easily. But I really don't like their most recent setup changes. I would miss the Zynga games I play but my time on FB is now more stressful. It's kind of stupid to feel stress over something like this. I've got enough stress in my life! Does Gmail have any problems? I'm a consistent Google user. Are people changing emails and/or search engines just to feel a little less exposed? I'm not panicked, just curious. I've seen so much talk about it lately. I just tried to download Mozilla Firefox and Chrome is warning me that "This type of file can harm your computer. Do you want to keep Firefox...p 7.0.1. exec anyway?" What does that mean? I'm scared to click on Keep. I usually use IE, but DH uses Chrome. My ds uses Firefox. Is one better? worse?
