hollyhock
I am looking for some feedback on my son's writing. Basically, how is he doing for a 9yo boy? Near the end of last year (3rd grade) I had him start writing his own narrations/summaries every once in awhile to see where he was at. This is, in my opinion, the best one he did. We've moved on now to WWE4. From Squanto, Friend of Pilgrims, as he wrote it: At first Squanto was happy when the ship sailed. But soon he grew tired of the ship. He wanted to see land again. Charles told him stories to pass the time but many of the words he could not understand. Won day the watchmen yelled "Land!" And Squanto was happy again. Thank you for any comments! ELaurie
also in WWE 4 this year. I think your son's narration is right on target :001_smile:
hollyhock
Thanks! It's always kind of hard to know when it's the oldest. :)
mommyto4
Looks good, especially for the content. We are only half way through WWE3 and the directions say that my son is only to use three sentences at most. Perhaps asking your son to do that would help him combine ideas into more complex sentences.
hollyhock
Thanks. Yes, you're right. I think 2-3 sentences is the goal. I'll have to keep that in mind.
