memphispeg
My dd just cranked up her TI89 and is walking around the house muttering rather pessimistically. Does anyone know of any on-line sites with good directions? She is planning to use it for calc. and physics so, a complete tutorial or manual site would be best.
AK_Mom4
This one is good if you hae never used a TI complicated calculator before: http://www.mathtutordvd.com/public/department146.cfm?gclid=CIjX87mZoqsCFeUZQgodLn8qig Here is TI's guidebook for the TI-89 http://education.ti.com/guidebooks/graphing/89ti/TI89TitaniumGuidebook_Part2_EN.pdf For odder stuff like file transfers to PC, this is a useful site: http://ti-89.org/faq.html BTW - I have these links because DD and DS had the same reaction to their calculators. Your kiddo is not alone! :D
memphispeg
ALASKA MOM; Thanks so much for the links. Dd looked at a few of them and seemed to be doing problems rather than just trying to get the calculator to work. What is amusing to me is that the "easiest" operations on the calculator are those that have the "hardest" math!!!! I'll stick to my old Grandma style one.....at least I can balance my checkbook! Our calc. and physics courses are not heavily dependent on calculator activities so I don't expect I'll here much more muttering.
