RegularMom
I was thinking about having my girls start reciting spelling words verbally, like one sees in spelling bees. Does anyone do this regularly? (Or, has everyone been doing this all along, and I'm just now figuring out that I should be doing this? :))And if so, do you think it helps reinforce spelling skills? My girls are pretty good spellers, if they take the time to THINK about the words before they write them. I'm wondering if administering spelling tests verbally would help them slow down and think more.
chepyl
We do spelling a variety of ways - on paper, with magnets on the fridge, on the dry erase board, and orally. Exposure and practice with different methods helps cement the spelling in long term memory.
