New York Hall of Science in Queens - any tips on getting there?

Recommended Posts

The LIE is the best way to go. Get off at 108th street, make a right onto 52nd Avenue and then a left onto 111th St. You can park in the lot right next to the Hall of Science, but I'm cheap and usually park right on 111th St where it's free (but you have to make sure it's not scheduled for street cleaning while you're there!)

They have a nice-sized cafeteria and they sell (junky) food. You are certainly free to bring your own stuff. Everyone does -they don't care.

Tips? Well I usually start on the middle level, then go to the bottom level (the bubbles are a fave), then finish on the third floor. Get a schedule of what demonstrations will be going on. They're all very cool, but the cow's eye dissection is awesome. Try to see a few - there's 2-3 going on every hour or 2. There's mini-golf outside the 1st floor and a fabulous outdoor science playground (a few extra dollars) outside one of the upper levels. The gift shop is fun to explore as well.

We love the Hall of Science and go several times a year. Have a great time!
