diaperjoys
My newly turned 8yo is in WWE2. We're 10 weeks into our school year, and he's just breezing through the questions, and is already doing the summaries well. Is there any merit in plodding through the rest of the book, or could we skip on ahead to another writing program? We were going to move on to Writing Tales when we finished with WWE2. He's officially 2nd grade this year, but he right away tested out of his second grade language arts type materials - and finds 3rd grade English & Spelling to be more his speed. I'm wondering if it would be appropriate to move him ahead with his writing as well. What would ya'll do if it were your child??
boscopup
If he can do the week 36 evaluation, I'd move to the next level or whatever you want to do. No need to complete the book if he has already mastered the material.
mommyto4
In my area, 8 year olds (and even some 7 year olds) are in Grade 3. But more importantly, he should be doing work that challenges him and is at his level. Put WWE2 back on the shelf:001_smile:.
TKDmom
I agree with taking the 36 week evaluation and moving on from there. If he isn't ready to move on, you could probably start skipping weeks, until you get to more challenging skills in WWE, but it sounds like he may do well on the end-of-year test.
