Apparently this year the Spanish version of Scholastic News is only available online, and you have to have 10 subscriptions to the English one to get the online version. Does anyone else know of a good Spanish-language magazine for a child who is still building vocabulary?

Is Scholastic Lets Find Out too easy/baby for him?

We did LFO last year, and while it's probably not a bad level as far as reading goes, the topics are the typical K themes, and I suspect much of the vocabulary will be the same as last year just by virtue of doing the same things at the same time of year, because the themes coming up look very similar. Since Scholastic News is more current-events, it was less seasonally focused, and the themes look like they have more variation. LFO was actually harder reading in Spanish last year than Scholastic News 1, because the assumption was that LFO was shared reading, while kids would be working on reading SN independently.

I'm still looking for a good fit for an early elementary child who needs reading practice. We do get Spanish-language children's books for this reason, but so many of the ones available in the library are translations of US books that she's read in English that they're not really "new"-and she LOVED getting the little newspapers last year.
