can anybody explain WJII Test of Cognitive Abilities scores?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to understand the scores my dd got in the WJ Cognitive Abilities test. This is my dyslexic 13yo who is now reading and writing at grade level. At 7yo, her full scale IQ was 133 with the WISC-IV. At 10yo, her full scale score could not be determined because there was too much variance on the subtests, but it was estimated at 123. Her verbal comprehension (136) and processing speed (103) were the same both times she tested, but her perceptual reasoning score dropped from 129 to 123 and her working memory score dropped from 132 to 99.

She had more testing done in May for a psychological evaluation (needed an official diagnosis of anxiety). She had never done the WJIII Test of Cognitive Abilities before and I don't understand what the subscores all mean.

Here's what she got:

79th %ile verbal comprehension

<0.1 %ile visual-auditory learning

50th %ile spatial relations

85th %ile sound blending

89th %ile concept formation

76th %ile visual matching

23rd %ile numbers reversed

14th %ile incomplete words

90th %ile auditory working memory

79th %ile auditory attention

55th %ile pair cancellation

What exactly is the visual-auditory learning test and what does a VERY low score mean there?

My 15yo Aspie (who doesn't seem to have any learning issues) scored 3rd %ile for visual-auditory learning, so I'd really like to know what this is and what it affects and how to work around it.
