AuntieM
My 11 yo dd loves mysteries. We are currently reading the Shakespeare Stealer series, and have done Detectives in Togas and the other by that same author. We'd love to hear suggestions on what to add to the list! Thanks! paula j
My dd loved to read at this age. Some of her favorites were... Gib and the Gray Ghost the Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry series All of my old Trixie Beldon mysteries Nancy Drew The Anne of Green Gables series The older Nancy Drews and Trixie Beldons were really good, if your dd likes mysteries she may enjoy them. AuntieM
one of our (dd's & mine) favorite pasttimes is to surf ebay for vintage Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books! I don't know how many people are aware that the ND series were seriously edited when they were reissued in the 1960's, and the older ones are much better! We also like to find the old Cherry Ames and Outdoor Girls books. We started doing it just to get reading materials, but just realized that dd has built a vintage book collection of significant value. (Hmmm... college funding?!!!) Thanks for your other suggestions, Paula, we'll check 'em out! Would love to hear from more of you!
