elise1mds
I asked this in an online support group I'm part of, but since almost all of us are diehard bookworms, I thought I'd ask here, too. Anyone know any good books for siblings of bipolar children? My son has been really frustrated with his sister and her antics lately, and I have a hard time explaining the situation to him so that he can understand why she's so unpredictable and upset all the time lately. He retains things extremely well if he reads them, so I told him I'd see if there were any books out there that might help him... or help me explain things to him. Bear in mind that he's got Asperger's, so understanding anyone is tough to begin with. Thanks :)
Dobela
THe one I have heard of most is Matt the Moody Hermit Crab. There are other suggestions on the Amazon page but I am not familiar with any of them.
elise1mds
Thank you! :) Edited to add I don't think I'll be getting it unless I can find it cheaper somewhere else... $110 seems a little steep! ;) Edited July 18, 2011 by elise1mds amused at the prices people think they can ask
Dobela
LOL I thought that price was ridiculous as well. Maybe you can get it thru Interlibrary loan or something. Did you notice the used copies were much more reasonable?
elise1mds
I did. The library doesn't have it or ANY other books that were on the suggested list. I do believe I'll be speaking to the librarians this week about that, because I'm sure I'm not the only adult in this city of 400K with a bipolar kid. Yeesh.
