birchbark
I've read on several educational philosophies but have not done much with Montessori. Can anyone recommend a good book to get me up to speed?
mom&nana
These are both quick and easy reads by Elizabeth Hainstock. Teaching Montessori in the Home: The Preschool Years Teaching Montessori in the Home: The School Years I really like David Gettman's Basic Montessori. He can be wordy though, so it's a slower read but well worth it. There's also this new book by John Bowman, Montessori At Home. It's full of great ideas for doing Montessori at home with easy and cheap ways to make the materials. The Ebook is on sale this month for $7.95. I've checked out others from the library but didn't care for them as much. They were older and seemed dated.
