mamamoon
hello!! i am so lost right now~have been following well trained mind but was sort of loose last year, unit studies, oak meadow, workbooks etc~ i am getting back on the bandwagon for WTM 5th grade and need suggestions for LA. i understand SWB is coming out with a grammar book in the fall~great! but what do i do about writing? is there another version of WWE? I dont feel super comfortable teaching writing (science major here). IEW?? looks sorta scary, but i will do it if i need to..... thanks in advance for your advice!!! lisa:)
wapiti
SWB's newest writing program, to follow WWE, is Writing With Skill (WWS). A description and samples are available at her blog http://www.welltrainedmind.com/blog/ My fifth grader will be starting WWS (using the samples) next month. By the time we're done with the samples, the PDF should be available.
almondbutterandjelly
You might check out All Things Fun and Fascinating, by the IEW people. It's only $29 and a pretty gentle composition curriculum, but hits most of their major points.
Guest
My 5th/6th grader is loving Saxon/hake Gram/Writ. It is the only program he has ever asked to stay with. I have him write in the book.
