silliness7
Different question since I've now realized I'm in possession of a 1st edition 8/7 instead of the 2nd edition. What's the difference? Anyone know? I cross-posted on K-8 board. __________________
silliness7
I apologize. I keep asking and answering my own questions on here today. Trying not to get sick about wasting money. This is from the DIVE website. {sigh} We do not recommend the Saxon Math 87 1st Edition textbook for several reasons. Foremost, it does not have enough pre-algebra, therefore students must spend an extra year completing Algebra 1/2. If students use the Math 87 2nd or 3rd Editions and maintain an 80+ average on tests, they can skip Algebra 1/2 and move directly into Algebra 1 in eighth grade. Also, the first (and second) edition texts do not have a solutions manual that works out every homework problem step by step, nor does it have the lesson reference numbers next to each problem that tells which lesson the problem was originally taught in. We believe these are essential tools to taking this course at home and succeeding. We urge you to consider the 3rd edition text instead.
