I have a few friends who have been on there for a while, and they haven't mentioned anything like that to me, but I'll be on the lookout. I wish there was a way to move my shelf over to Library Thing instead because it seems like more people are there. I've spent a ton of time working on my bookshelf! What is Shelfari? What is Library Thing? They are websites where you can catalog the books you read and follow others to see what they read. I just joined so that's about all I know, lol. I spent a ton of time adding all my books in, but then the website wasn't working well with my Mac. None of my friends were interested in joining (too much work to add their books), so I just stopped using it. I did not get any spam from it. After reading your post, I decided to visit GuruLib again, and it is working on my iPad, so I just might start using it again. It loaded immediately, so I think it will be good so I don't buy books we already have. The other thing I liked about it is that if you loan a book out, you can mark it as loaned, who borrowed it, and it will send the person reminders to return your book. It allowed a person to request to borrow a certain book. I haven't checked to see if they still have those features, but I don't know why they would not.
