Jenn in CA
I have never used textbooks for English. I'm wanting something that my dd could just open every day and know exactly what to do. Already broken up into daily chunks would be great. What would you suggest that is: * Thorough, comprehensive * Includes writing skills, essays/papers * Not tons of grammar; some is fine * Doesn't have to be tied to any particular reading or historical period We love Saxon... the comprehensiveness, the continual review. Anything like that for English? I'm just not familiar w/textbook publishers. I'm open to them. We actually tried Hake Grammar & Writing 5; it was pretty good. I'm looking for something at high school level.

Clover11
Thanks! Will look into it. Did you end up finding something? What did you think of Jensen's?
Jenn in CA
Still haven't actually looked at Jensen's. But since I am wanting it for my 12yo, I decided to go w/just the writing workbook-thingie of Hake Grammar 6, and skip the grammar part. I realized she's not as advanced as I was thinking. :-)

Right now we use Saxon Grammar and I would LOVE to find something like it for high school.
