Heather in WI
Has anyone used Zaner-Bloser's Spelling Connections? What did you think? I've used Rod and Staff's Spelling by Sound and Structure and MCP's Spelling Workout in the past and I'm looking to switch things up next year for my rising 1st and 4th graders. Thank you! :)
simka2
I am using this right now with my 4! So far I really like it. I printed out all the lessons and some extra lined pages. Then I bound them with my proclick. The kids get their words at the begininng of the week. We go over the spelling rule together. Then they practice on their own and test on Fri. If they miss 3 or less I have them right the 3 they missed in the back of the book. The next week we add the 3 previous words, plus the new ones. If they miss more than 3 I do not believe they are ready to move on and we repeat the lesson. My plan is to move thru the spelling lists for 1st half of the year and add Latin roots study for the 2nd half.
