RamonaQ
I don't mean to sound stupid, but what do you mean? Comprehension? Summarization? Outline? Fluency? Decoding?

peacefully
Michele, doesn't V/V and IdeaChain work on this? I thought they went from word visualization to sentence to paragraph, etc.

peacefully
I guess I'm not understanding what you mean by having no meaning attached to the words. What are you trying?

Hikin' Mama
Get the book When Kids Can't Read by Kylene Beers. She was a middle school teacher who realized that many of her students were just like your son. They did not understand what they were reading, although some of them were fluent readers. She has many reading strategies in her book. I hope this is helpful to you.
