Ann@thebeach
I'm pretty sure E is the same as the "survey" edition which is the shorter test. This shows the CAT E content: http://www.setontesting.com/content.php This is the same as the CAT5 Survey Edition that I am giving to my kids next week. It's basically an abbreviated version of the full battery. So it's only about 2.5 hrs vs 5-6hrs.
Halcyon
Thanks. EPGY only accepts CAT 5 (not CAT E) so it had me curious.
Ann@thebeach
Yes, most places that require testing would probably only accept the full battery test since it is the more "accurate" measure. I'm not required to test and haven't tested in a few years so that's why we're doing the shorter test. Mainly doing it for practice and DH is curious. ;)
Halcyon
DH is in charge of the testing component of DS' education (he's doing test prep with him as he finds it "fun" LOL) so I am going to give him the choice of CAT E or ITBS. I think, for my 8 yo's first testing experience, I will suggest CAT-E (we're not required by the state). DS is doing well with his practice tests, but he is a perfectionist and I worry about that in a test setting. Plus, I don't know that Dad is up to administering the Loooooong ITBS!:D
LNC
Yikes, I was going to submit my daughter 99% Cat-E to Duke TIP. Will that not work??? I'll research when I get home...Sigh..
Halcyon
Based on the site, they say they accept only CAT-5, but then below (if I'm remembering correctly) you can contact them about other tests' eligibility. Please let me know what you fnd out. I'd rather my son take the shorter test.
