Maisy
I don't go out of my way to avoid Christian curriculum (we're big R&S fans), but I do prefer a secular curriculum. I've used SL (Cores 1 & 3) largely secularly in the past, but was wondering about Core 5. Does it have a greater number of religious/Christian books in the scheduled Core? I have heard this is the case (true?) and was wondering if it was one Core that really couldn't be "tweaked" easily. Thanks! Lisa
StephanieZ
You can definitely use it secularly. I did, and I plan to again in a few years with my younger. The SL Secular yahoo groups will have lots of specific suggestions for book replacements, etc. . . but in general, I just omitted a few books, added a few others, and went with the flow. I don't think Core 5 was any more difficult to use secularly than the other cores I have used.
