Guest tjsmama
Hi, I'm new here. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some chapter books for my 5 year old. Right now she's devouring all the Magic Treehouse books and Scooby Doo books. Since she's five, I'd like to keep her books age appropriate even though she's such an advanced reader. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
Kirch
Hello and welcome! :001_smile: I have a bunch of lists copied/pasted from previous threads here and other lists on the web, so I'll put a couple of those up for you later--I only have a few minutes right now. celticmom
Another thought that I did not see listed is the Bobsey twins books. I enjoyed those as a child and my dd may be ready to start them soon.

Buried Alive! (Davis) Race Into Space (Arnold) Dinosaur Hunter (Alphin) Giant Squid: Mystery of the Deep (Dussling) Tentacles! Tales of the Giant Squid (Redmond) Aladdin (Kerven) Sonlight also has great reading choices. For that level, I'd check the Grade 2 readers (lots of overlap w/HOD's "emerging reader" set I mentioned before) and Grade 3 readers. In the Rain
I second (or third) the idea of looking at a Sonlight catalog. We've found great titles there. All of the series I was thinking of have already been listed above. I see lots of new titles too. I'm off to look through these great lists more carefully!
