Melissa in St Louis
Ok, I am cooking for 30 people for a Cinco de Mayo dinner. :) It is going to be buffet-style, and for part of the entree portion, I a going to set up a "build your own taco" bar with shells, meats, and fixins....what fixins should I put out? I have down tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, olives, salsa...but what else could I put out? We are pretty simple eaters in my family, so I don't know what other people might eat. :bigear: Thanks!

Rebecca in VA
Black beans, pinto beans, guacamole. Possibly several different kinds of salsa, like hot, mild, and corn salsa.
Pink Fairy
I like to put fajita-style stuff on my tacos--carmalized onions and roasted red peppers (either from the jar or cooked with the onions). Also, fresh cilantro chopped and placed in a bowl so you can sprinkle it on top. It really gives that "authentic" flavor, IMO. Sounds like the food will be delicious! We are going to a "spring fling" at someone's house on the 10th--I hope they're serving the same thing you are. :tongue_smilie:
Melissa in St Louis
WOW. Thanks for the help so far! Great ideas, all of them! My kids would be SHOCKED to know that something goes on tacos besides meat and chicken!!!!
Rebecca in VA
Fresh cilantro, chopped fine. Cilantro is wonderful in Mexican food!
