greenmamato3
i have the instructor's guide for FLL3 and am wondering how necessary it is for me to purchase the student workbook/student pages?
newlifemom
I'm not sure. I am helping a friend, who is ill right now, with her kids and they use that program. A lot of the time, I make him do the work on another piece of paper. [i'm a meanie :tongue_smilie:] They have the diagram drawn for the student and all they have to do is put the words from the sentence into the diagram. Too easy imo. So we rarely use the student workbook. He is trying to get used to me. :D
SilverMoon
It is helpful, but not absolutely necessary, especially if you're already used to FLL's style from using the earlier levels.
Hedgehogs4
The TM refers to the student pages constantly. I do the lesson with him using the student pages, then we make up our own sentences and diagram them on the white board.
greenmamato3
so you do sentences beyond what the TM suggests b/c the workbook isn't enough practice, or just b/c your child loves it? not sure whether you're saying the workbook would be necssary, based on your experience. Mallory
I think the work book makes it much easier. On some of the pages it would be difficult to recreate the wkshts without the student book. There aren't copies of the worksheets in the TM (many teachers manuals have the student pages in there with all the answers filled in, but FLL don't).
