Aubrey
I don't think you're supposed to have the whole thing written for those, maybe just a sample chapter? What else do I need to know? I'm not an expert in the field or anything, I've just seen a hole in the market. :bigear:
Ginevra
From How to Write Attention-Grabbing Query and Cover Letters by John Wood, the chapter on nonfiction book proposals gives this: 1. Synopsis of the book (one-plus pages). 2. Table of contents (one page). 3. Chapter summaries (ten-plus pages, one to three pages per chapter). 4. Market analysis - cost, demographics, competition, promotion (two plus pages). 5. Author's qualifications (one page). Total length: fifteen-plus pages. (Wood 114) It's not necessary to have written the book, but you would obviously do better to express clearly what you expect to be able to do. Not that I know from experience. Thank you--most of that I can very easily do. Not sure how I'd do a market analysis (!), but I could at least point out the hole in the market. Off to see if I can figure out who to send it to. Thanks! :001_smile:
