dietmom
So we're reevaluating what we like and don't like (this is our first year). DS likes most everything except the science. It is a unit studies type of series so we cover the same topic for quite a while. It is just reading from a black/white text and then supplementing with library books--but he generally doesn't have any desire to read the library books afterward. This is one of his favorite subjects so I really want it to be great for him....any ideas???? I'm not looking for a curriculum that requires a lot of items I don't have around, either--I know myself and we'll end up skipping the experiments! ChrissySC
Take a look at Pandia Press and I recently added the Jason Project to our studies. :) My dd does not like to "read" her science. She prefers an abridged dump of information, LOL. She wants to do experiments, investigations, and be awed through video.
wapiti
I've never done this before, and I'm sure I'm going to make curriculum mistakes at some point, so take this FWIW, but yesterday I ordered this: http://www.galorepark.co.uk/product/parents/56/so-you-really-want-to-learn-science-book-1.html though I bought it from some random site.
