Mommamia
I'm just curious what is being taught for grammar and vocabulary in public/private school. Specifically for 2nd or 3rd grade. How about math too? thanks!
wapiti
You might be able to find that information by hunting around on your district's website. Some include it, some don't, and sometimes you have to go to the website for one of the elementary schools to find it. Our district's website includes standards, lists of things that are supposed to be learned at each grade level, divided into trimesters. Finding out the name of the curriculum used is a bit trickier - it can differ among different elementary schools in the same district. I've been known to email actual teachers to find out names of curricula. I've gotten very nice replies from some, and no replies from others, so YMMV. Many neighborhood schools in our district use Everyday Math, but not all of them. We have several charter schools, and I know that some of the core knowledge charters use Saxon - it's usually mentioned someplace on their websites. Surlygirlie
At my kiddos school, 3rd graders and below do Shurley Grammar and Singapore for math.
