He'p me! A question for Shurley Grammar or LFC users

Is a "Direction Object" the same thing as a direct object? Also, is a "predicate nominative" the same thing as a subject complement? The definition I found on the internet says a predicate nominative follows a linking verb and describes or renames a subject--that sounds like a subject complement to me!

Sincerely,

A Confused Voyages in English and Latin for Children user who never took Latin herself. :)

I use LfC, but gave up on Shurley after a month of tears from my son...

My guess would be that a "direction object" would be a direct object. I've never seen that in LfC, but I teach it myself rather than having the DVDs and honestly don't read every single word...there are things I change up a bit.

A predicate nominative (or predicate noun) is something like "Jeremy is a boy." "Jeremy" would be the subject, "is" is the verb, and "boy" is the predicate nominative.

Hope that helps!
