Need Squash-type soup recipes

Butternut squash (roasted ahead of time, if you think of it, but just simmered is fine, too) simmered with apple or pear, onion, and chicken broth makes a lovely bisque. Just cook it down for a few hours and puree it, which is much easier if you have an immersion blender, and season it as you like. Some people add cream, still others add a bit of sherry. I like mine plain, though.
