Writing - 2nd grade

I'm using WWE2 for my 2nd grade DD, but would love to add in more writing.

 

Anyone have any ideas?

My 2nd grade son loves to write so here are some ideas that I do with him. I have these things as things to do each week, I guage how many extras to add in based on how much assigned he's already done.

 

--write a letter to a friend, cousin, etc. (we have a lot of out of state family and friends so he has a lot of choices!)

--type an email to his Dad at work

--write a little story about something your stuffed animals did this week (he and bro create elaborate adventures their animals go on)

--write about a book you read this week (at least 3 sentences)

--make a list of countries you want to visit

--make a list of states you've visited

--use whiteboard to write out something from memory (months, days, a poem, psalm, list of helping vbs., etc.)

 

Just some ideas I do with my son. Right now his favorite is writing letters to people, so I encourage that as much as possible...and he's starting to get letters back which encourages him to keep writing more!
