sheryl
We have just started our 5 th academic year homeschooling. My dd just started 4th grade. We have used Abeka for everything nearly, except for Saxon Math. For us Abeka has worked WELL. I know it has the reputation of using alot of activity sheets and being redundant (to a point), but we just pick and choose for the numbered activities for a given subject in addition to the cc (comp/chapter check ups)..so it's not doing every single activity for every subject. With that said, what would be a like curriculum to Abeka from another publisher? Thorough (maybe not quite so) as Abeka, the little cc's every now and then, or just another publisher's method for presenting material to be learned by the student. Example ~ Abeka uses the cc's mentioned in previous paragraph. Science History Language She does not care for Abeka math. We've always used Saxon and it's worked well. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. Sheryl <><
TracyR
I would say look into Christian Light math maybe .. its similar to Abeka and Saxon . Its not colorful like Abeka but works a bit like Saxon but is more advanced then Saxon . If that just made any sense . And its in workbook form ( if that matters. ) There is a Christian Light group that has lots of samples . http://groups.yahoo.com/group/christianlightfamilies
