Gamom3
I had a hysterectomy Nov. 2006, still have ovaries. I was looking online and saw that I had a few of the symptoms that show I have low estrogen. I spoke with Dr. in Dec and she thinks I am to young(36 in June) and I have had some of the symptoms prior to the surgery. Is there something I can take over the counter to see if it helps with the symptoms and not cause harm to my body?
Suzanne in ABQ
Sometimes low progesterone masks itself as low estrogen. Have you read Dr. John Lee's books? What Your Doctor May Not Have Told You About Menopause, and What Your Doctor May Not Have Told You About Premenopause. Read these books. He explains all the symptoms, and how the hormones interact and act like each other, and what you can do (naturally) about high or low levels. You can get both natural progesterone and natural estrogen in cream form at health food stores. But, I'd highly recommend reading at least one of these books before using them. Storm Bay
I'd read the book. 36 isn't always too young, either. Do you know your family history for menopause? IRL I've met 3 women (that I know of) who were done with menopause in their late 30s. One was single and celibate, which can make the age lower (an average of 5 years), but the other two were parents.
