Lori D.
Only familiar with Victory on the Wall. It was not that well written (compared to other ancient historical fiction, just as Detectives in Togas, Hittite Warrior, God King, etc.). Characters were rather 2-dimensional, and their motivations did not seem terrible plausible. Worst of all khe main character (a boy) was annoyingly whiny throughout, so instead of identifying with him, we wanted to throttle him. Overall, not that great of a work of historical fiction. I would skip it.
HappyGrace
Oh good, thanks! I had already gone with W/in the P. Gates based on Amazon reviews after I didn't hear back from anyone here. Thanks for the confirmation!
