Question about CQLA Checklist Challenge

Recommended Posts

I am using Pre-A with my daughter, and we did the Checklist Challenge today. As we were working through it, I realized the one line they give to re-write the sentence isn't enough.

For example, in this lesson, first you circle the verb. Then you change a boring verb to a strong verb. Then you add an adverb. Then you add an adjective. So each time you do this, are you supposed to re-write the sentence with the newly added words? Or, do you cram it in and make arrows where it goes? I was curious how you did this.

I am almost thinking of taking half a sheet of paper, writing the sentence in the middle, and then there's plenty of space around to write the additional words, making arrows to where they should go. (IEW does something like this).

Thanks in advance for the advice!
