Copswife
I'm going to give running (jogging) a try. I'm paying for Jazzercise which I enjoy doing, but sometimes my dh's or kids schedules prevent me from making it to class. So, I'm about to go for a 2 mile run/jog/walk. What should I stretch? I'm in OK shape and can make it through an hour exercise class no problem. :001_smile: I don't know if I should walk for 5 minutes to warm up or maybe 10. Should I stretch my calves and quads? For how long? Thanks for any tips. Tracie
pixelroper
I stretch after warm up and at the end, when muscles are warm. To warm up I jog about 5-10. After I get back I stretch everything that feel like it needs it and pound water.
Antonia
Agreeing with pixelroper. The new train of thought is not to stretch before running, but just start with a walk or slow run, then stretch after your run.
Copswife
I totally "get" it now. I ran and it was awesome. Now I'm refreshed and can't wait to go tomorrow. :auto: Tracie
