Has anyone ever used any of the "history kits"?

Hi,

Has anyone ever used any of those "history kits" out there? They seem to be a little box full of stuff to study a particular subject in history. (Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Knights, etc)

That seems like something nice to me, the "never wants to do crafts Mom". You just pull out the little box, do the stuff in the box and then put it away again. If you have used any, please tell me the brands and your opinions.

We did the Ancient China one and it was a hit. Ds loved it and spent a few hours going through it. I think he's a little young for the book (he's 6, and there are too many small words in the book for him to bother to read), but he greatly enjoyed th activities with dh.

 

He also worked on an Ancient Egypt kit with a dig, with which he also had a blast.

 

Next year as we're studying the Medieval Times, I'm getting the Mayan dig kit and the Knights.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me if you used the "treasure chest" kits or some other? I've seen a couple others out there.
