Katiebug_1976
Does anyone use Biblioplan's writing ideas as a writing program? Or do you use it as a supplement?
Ali in OR
I didn't use them the first time through, but I think we'll use them periodically now that dd is older (entering 5th). But they are just prompts--I don't think they substitute for a writing program. There is no writing instruction, no rubrics to help you evaluate, etc. Here are some samples: Ancients wk 3: Grammar level: Would you have liked to have lived in Hammurabi's Babylon? Why or why not? Logic level: Compare what Abraham's life in Ur might have been like with his life in Canaan. Ancients wk 21: Grammar level: You are a stowaway on a Greek trading ship. When you reach your destination, send a postcard telling about your voyage. What cargo was on board? Logic level: Would you have preferred to live in Athens or Sparta? Write an essay explaining where you would have liked to have lived and why.
