Penny from Tenny
My ds, who is 9 and won't be 10 until late this fall, is finishing up Rod and Staff 4 Grammar and has done B work. We do most of the work orally, obviously not the writing part and have used WWE level 2 to help learn the mental process of writing. I used FLL in 1st and 2nd grade and I should have stuck with this approach. (Where is that banging your head against the wall emoticon?) I am considering slowing him down in grammar and doing a kinder, gentler approach because R&S 5 is so intense and even though he will be in 5th grade this coming year, we are keeping him in 4th as far as enrollment in our umbrella school because of his age. I am not traditional in that I could care less if he is in 5th grade and not doing ALL 5th grade level work. Would FLL4 be slowing down too much after R&S 4? If so, what about Intermediate Language Lessons? (We are using MFW) I am open to suggestions....who says after homeschooling for a long time that this gets any easier. If you've read this far....bless you. I'll be checking in later tonight to see what words of wisdom you all have....I'm going to Cracker Barrel in a minute for my last HS support group meeting for the year. :auto:
