Thoughts about BJU or TOG for HS?

I've been homeschooling my 4 dc for about 10 years and I'm very nervous about starting high school with my oldest. I'd like to get some opinions about BJU (DVDs for high schooler) and TOG. (I've narrowed it down to these two).

I've used TOG in the past and even though I liked it I shelved it because I couldn't keep up with their weekly schedule with all 4 dc. I'm now reconsidering it because I like what I see in their Rhetoric sections. However, my oldest is a good student but not a good test taker and so I'm also considering BJU as maybe a better way to prep him for college. I need something teacher-friendly because of our busy schedule: dear hubby is still in grad school and we're also trying to renovate an old house in our spare time (lol).

Any thoughts about these two curriculum? Thanks very much for any and all advice, thoughts, experiences.

Well, I'm a faithful TOGGER, but in your situation I'd go for BJU sat or DVDs. Time, ease of teacher use, these are a few of the factors that BJU has over TOG (in your situation.)

If you do a search on this forum you'll find tonnes of stuff.

Hope that helps!

We have had years when we were very faithful to TOG and years that we were more faithful to BJU.

I agree with the above poster.....If you KNOW this is going to be a busy year, then I would go with BJU. TOG takes time and LOTS of your energy.

But some years are JUST LIKE THAT. They are Git R Done years, and that is o.k.

TOG is for when you want more of indepth discussion and deep critical thinking and LOTS of reading.

Blessings,
