Jennefer@SSA
I am planning SOTW 4 for us for next year. Ds9 will be in 4th grade (yes I know a little young for this volume but we will edit out more sensitive topics). Are most 4th graders ready for the outlines in the AG? If not, did you modify to make it doable for a younger SOTW 4 student and how? If you did not outline, did you continue with narrations but have them write their own? I have a 3rd grade son who outlines our history from the usborne internet linked history enclyclopedia that we use as well as from the books we use. He started outlining with my help last year in 2nd and we moved him to outlining alone this year in 3rd. It sounds like your ds is right on for the SOTW cycle. VOl 1 in 1st, vol 2 in 2nd, vol 3 in 3rd and vol 4 in 4th. Not to young at all.
ncmom2dawters
My dds (3rd and 4th grades) started SOTW 4 about a month ago. We are doing the outlines together.
Jennefer@SSA
My dds (3rd and 4th grades) started SOTW 4 about a month ago. We are doing the outlines together. Can you describe what that looks like in your home? Do you have them orally give you the words and you fill in the outline? Do you have to coach them and then they write their own?
