Would you choose BJU Spanish DVDs or SOS???

Recommended Posts

Are theses alike or is SOS like Rosetta Stone? I'm thinking with BJU dd would get more grammar/vocabulary out of it than Rosetta Stone. I see that SOS doesn't have a workbook and that it is all online.

Thank you:)

Barb

I'd LOVE to try BJU, but I could not afford it. SOS is not like Rosetta Stone. It is a very sound program, although the 1st year (secondary Spanish) is whole-to-parts (drives me nuts). The 2nd an 3rd years (Spanish I and II) are more parts to whole and they prepare a student for college classes quite well.

There are lots and lots of discussion on SOS on these boards--do a search. There are things folks don't like about SOS, but if you know how to get around them, the program teaches a lot of good language skills.

Jean (who majored in Spanish soooooo many years ago and has forgotten waaaaaaay too much of it. :D )
